I confess I was a stripper in my twenties - theatrical numbers I got to do really well in the end. Dropped it when 29, partly because I was fed up with that life, and partly because I was getting interested in understanding myself, what makes us tick, who we are, the meaning of life ...... So began a journey of mind stripping - peeling off layers of suffering, delusion through psychotherapy and Buddhist meditation and life as a Buddhist nun for seven years. Then an opportunity arose to collaborate with theatre director Pema Clark at the University of East Anglia using my journals and art to devise a performance piece about my life. We called it 'The Stripper'.
